The Journey

Dan Fraser's musical odyssey began in the vibrant cultural landscape of Cologne, Germany, where his classical guitar studies at eight years old sparked a lifelong passion for the arts. His early years were defined by a deep exploration of traditional Irish and Scottish music, leading to the formation of The McMontos in 2002.

After returning to Essex, he rediscovered the bass guitar, a central instrument in his subsequent professional career. From his years with Redhouse Groove Band and Wyatt’s Band to the formation of Rural Outcasts, Dan has consistently evolved as a performer and composer.

In 2018, he joined forces with Jon Halden and Samuel Thake to establish JDS Acoustic Band, now known simply as JDS, with the addition of Jordan Wheeler also supporting on drums - bringing a unique creative reimagining to the live music circuit all across East Anglia and beyond.
